Introduction of Winter in Iran

Though it is called winter and it should have some snow, in Iran you can ski in winter as well as Sea sports in some areas and cities. Iran is known for one of the rarest countries in which four distinct seasons can be seen at the same time. Since it is surrounded by World’s largest inland body of water and dense forests in north, Mediterranean Sea in south, cold mountain ranges in west and world’s hottest zone in east, it boasts a variety of climates and it is big difference in weather conditions from one region to another.

This kind of features that amazingly let people to ski in deep snow after playing water sports just by one-hour trip, make Iran a dream destination for tourists. No matter from which country the tourists are, they would definitely enjoy visiting Iran in each season, even those who are hard to please. Given these points, Iran lasts a proper choice to visit in every time of the year. Since it is apparently important for tourists to become aware of weather conditions that they would be faced, we have tried to show Iran conditions in winter as below:

Winter in Iran

Winter in Iran is a span of time between December and march., when weather gets subfreezing in north and west where Snowfall probably last for some days. In addition, the rainfall in other zones is abundant. Since it is hard to approach and stay in west, it is not the best choice unless you are ski enthusiast. Also, it is continuously rainy in north that diminish the ability to enjoy nature comfortably. On the other hand, east and south shine like a diamond in winter and it is not anything more enjoyable than visiting these area. Furthermore, it is a proper time to immerse yourself in matchless water or Persian Gulf.

Temperatures in winter in Iran

The climate diversity causes the huge difference between temperature ranges in disparate zones. So, it could be divided to four parts:

North of Iran: temperature range is almost between 2 to 14 degrees Celsius. It is rainy most of the days and Caspian Sea is not mild enough for SeaSports.

East of Iran: the lowest temperature is -4 in January and the highest is15 in March. It is a good opportunity for tourist to enjoy the spectacular scenery of east regarding mild weather during the day. Nights are freezing in this season.

West in Iran: temperature ranges is between -7 to 10 degrees Celsius. This area is only recommended for winter sports in winter. It is usually snowy.

South in Iran: this area offers you a lot in winter. The weather is most pleasant among all seasons with temperature between 7 and 20. It is rainy rarely. Persian Gulf is in its best condition for SeaSports.

Precipitation:

It is either snowy or rainy most of the time in north and west and the amount of precipitation is considerable in this season.

What to wear and carry for traveling in winter in or to Iran?

Depends on your destination in Iran but mostly, winter clothes! Otherwise you would be in trouble. Packing umbrella is recommended.
